Chehel Sotoon Palace, Isfahan
Chehel Sotoon Palace is situated in a five acre garden with the same name. Its erection was started in Shah Abbas Safavi I reign and was completed during the lifetime of Shah Abbas Safavi II in 1647. The palace was used to entertain foreign guests and leaders. The mirror hall, 18 pillars hall, north and south room of mirror hall, hall porches, and grand pool are the main features of this palace. A magnificent image of the palace can always be seen as a reflection in the pool. The monument is decorated with paintings, tiles and mirrors on its ceilings and walls. Walls of the main hall depict six grand paintings of Safavi kings meeting with leaders of neighboring countries or battles with enemies.
